Hey guys! I was once again away for a while due traveling. The ones who follow me in instagram (@gabipereira) have noticed hahaha but I'm back with this new post and with a lot of new stuff to tell all of you about! Today's post is still about Paris. I'll talk about some sightseeings that you can't miss and that I recommend at this amazing city! And of course, how to get there and everything.
Como se locomover/How to get around
For me, the best way to get around Paris is definitely the metro/subway! The attractions are usually far from each other, so it's hard and tiresome. The traffic isn't that good, of course that depends a lot on where and what time you are driving... and you have to think about the price of renting a car and paying to park every time you decide to stop. The are also the hop-on hop-off buses, which by buying a ticket for one or two days, you can can hop-off at the stopes and hop-on on the next bus that goes by, as you wish. The bad thing is that most of them stop working at 6 p.m, and for those who are visiting Paris in summer, the sun usually sets at 10 p.m! So the days are long and there is a lot more to enjoy after 6 p.m. The metro ticket is 1.80 euros e the metro stations are everywhere and you can find one in front of almost every attraction! So the ones who choose this way of getting around, I recommend you download the "Paris Metro" app, that works offline, it has the metro map and also a route planner, so you only have to put the station you are at the one you wish to go to, and it will show you the best and fastest way to do that.
This was one of the attraction which surprised me to most! The first time I was in Paris I didn't get the chance to visit the palace, but this last time I went. I already knew the place was huge and wonderful, but now so much. For the ones who like History and know all about the background which the palace was built, it's very interesting, it goes way further than how gorgeous the place is. And even for the ones who aren't History's number 1 fans, it's worth it! Since me, my mom and my sisters already knew the story everything, we didn't go with a guid. How to get there?
By car: Place d'Armes, 78000, Versailles, France
By metro/subway/train: Versailles - Rive Droite (line C), it's the last station on the C line.
By bus: Versailles Express - from Tuesday to Sunday, leaving from the Eiffel Tower, only twice a day (8 a.m, coming back 12:30 p.m and 2 p.m, coming back at 6 p.m)
When to go?
Versailles is divided basically in 4 parts: The palace, Trianon Palace and Marie-Antoinette's estate, the garden, and the park. The opening hours are very different from one another and it depends also on the season which you go. So for information about the opening hours of each of the places I said, just click here. When I went (July), it opened at 9 a.m, we got there like 9:30 a.m e it was full!! I recommend getting there exactly by 9 a.m, or even before that, cause even before it opens there is already a line haha
